Glorious, the day he finally beat Harry Potter.

Victorious, the year the Quidditch House Cup graced the Slytherin common room once again.

Gratifying, the moment he at last made his father proud.

But he knew he couldn't trust his own eyes; not now, not here.

He regretted ever looking, because he knew it would never happen.

He picked the book up from the floor.

It was thick and heavy; and he threw it across the room with bitter conviction.

In the near distance, the mirror shattered, along with all the images of all the glory that would never be his.

I should probably write him a happier drabble next time. In the three weeks I've been here, I've already turned him into a werewolf, killed off his mum and now this.. not very nice. ;)
