You clutch the silk handkerchief tightly.

Once, it belonged to mother.

She gave it to you, the morning you first left for Hogwarts. She used it to wipe away frightened tears shed by a small boy on the threshold of a great adventure.

Once, it smelled of her perfume; a sweet scent of roses.

Deep in the dungeons, you'd keep it under your pillow, and you'd imagine her there.

You close your eyes and you inhale deeply, but the scent has long since faded.

You lay a rose on her beautiful, lifeless form.

You nod, and they close the coffin.
