As I Please // Lord and Master

Title: As I Please
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Lucius
Characters: Draco, Lucius
Notes: This is Draco’s view of Lucius as a Voldemort follower, after seeing groveling Lucius.

Lips pressed in a thin line, the only indication of unchecked emotion in Lucius.

“Father, I will do as I please. I am Malfoy, as frequently told to me. I answer to know no one, including my parents.” Tension and anger seem to radiate off the younger Malfoy.

Lucius finally answers with, “You will do as you’re told.”

“No, Father, I won’t. Perhaps you enjoy being someone’s lapdog but I follow no one.”

“You will gain the Mark.” An edge crept in his father’s voice.

“No.” With a turn of heel, he departed, leaving Father’s commands falling upon deaf ears.

Notes: I like imagining a younger Draco, to see what life was like for him. This is one outlook, thought I might as well post it.

At the tender age of eight, Draco had become accustomed to Lucius’s demands. The list seemed to grow daily, but he never voiced an opposing opinion. His father was lord and master of the manor; no one argued with him.

When Lucius punished his son, it was his right. Crying or pleading were not allowed, or punishment increased. A Malfoy what was dealt and then sought revenge afterwards. Lessons were taught harshly, without emotion. One was never too early to learn, or so Father told him.

Sometimes late at night, Draco wished for a caring father; praise would suffice, though.

The second is so sad. :( Poor Draco. It makes me want to adopt him.

But it's always nice to see Draco standing his own ground, as per the first drabble.

Lovely!! <333
