“You said,” Harry starts. Draco watches him sorting out the letters, possibilities arrayed on the hearth rug, then glances back at his own desk.
“Yes?” he says. Draco thinks about the family tapestry, the inheritance, the requirement for an heir. The flickering, fleeting thing that he’s trying to grasp about himself.
“A child,” Harry says, offers. His expression is conflicted, yearning yet tentative. “Next year might be a good time.”
There’s desire, and then there’s the way Harry makes him feel. Warm, safe, and wrapped in love.
“You could work on research, and I—”
“Yes,” Draco says, and means everything.
