Karst is eyeing him from the shelf when Draco looks up, golden eyes whirring as though in disapproval of Draco’s choice of midnight beverage. Draco takes another sip of tea, blearily defiant.
“You try sleeping,” he says, feeling mulish. Karst only hisses softly, and slips away into the shadows of the shelves. It’s nothing at all like Nagini, but Draco gets a flash of her anyway, sliding down the Hogwarts hallway and—
He rubs his eyes, blinking them open to see Harry leaning in the doorway.
“You could have woken me,” Harry says.
“I’m okay,” Draco says, and he is.
