Draco wakes just after midnight, heart pounding. At first he thinks— but no, Harry is lying in bed next to him, the moon in silver stripes across his face.
And then Draco realizes that this is his bedroom at the manor.
He must be sleeping, he must— Draco glances down to check how many fingers he has, and can’t count them. It’s cold comfort; he’s not sure how to wake up.
“Draco,” he hears, the voice thready as it drifts down the corridor. “Be a good boy, come and see your father.”
Draco’s still shaking when he finally wakes up.
