Notes: I've always been quite taken with Draco being a little sod in his younger years. It shows character to grow out of it, surely? Here's a little snapshot from the life of Hogwarts' snottiest resident:
Draco looked around him furtively; the Great Hall was finally empty. It must be here - Slytherins were not made to skulk in the dungeons. Here, he would become the greatest of them all, returning them to glory.
Even Father would be impressed.
"I am Slytherin's Heir," he declared. "Obey me, and only me."
Nothing happened.
Several minutes later he finally gave up, kicking the wall in disgust. "I'm Draco Malfoy, you know," he told the the empty hall on the way out.
The Basilisk slithered away inside the wall. It was just its luck the juiciest children always were pure-bloods.
