Draco realized he was jiggling one of his legs, and he stilled it. He took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and prepared to make a leap of faith.

"Potter, I-"

"Malfoy, would you like to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" Potter blurted, interrupting him.

Draco was too astounded to speak for a moment, and Potter's hopeful expression closed down. Before he could turn away, however, Draco put him out of his misery. "I'd love to go to Hogsmeade with you," he said.

Potter brightened immediately. "That's great," he said. "Fantastic. So, um, would you like some more pumpkin juice?"
