Character(s) / Pairing(s): Draco / Harry; mention of Severus Snape
Rating: PG
Word count: 100
Notes: Unbeta'd. Severus enlists Draco's help in delivering something essential to Harry. Title comes from Somebody Else by The 1975.
The chill of winter nipped at Draco’s ankles as he stood, steps away, from the iced-over lake in the Forest of Dean. Severus, careful to remain undiscovered, instructed Draco to deliver the sword of Gryffindor to the Harry.
If he hadn’t nearly been murdered the evening before, Draco would have laughed at the suggestion. He was glad to be free of the Dark Lord’s clutches, even for a night.
The look on Harry’s too-thin, war-stained face as he realized it was Draco who pulled him out of the lake was one he’d remember forever. For that, he was grateful.
