Notes: Also written for this picture by mieronna for the trouser_snaco Fest for the prompt: As punishment for failing at Hogwarts, Draco is bitten by Greyback. Fortunately, Snape can make Wolfsbane potion and is willing to keep watch.


Pallid, like a child of moonlight, moonstruck, awaiting the rush of transformation to seize him, Draco clung to his knees, glaring at the scale, the weight of his first change crushing fragile bird-bones.

His only comfort the familiar gruff grumble of Severus fussing the minutia of potions-making. In odd coincidence, this had been all Draco really wanted; time with Severus, spent alone where he was the focus of his concern. But not like this. Never like this.

Draco is chilled to the bone, quaking at the damnability of this life.

Severus looked from phial to Draco.

"You are not alone."
