Draco pulls the hood tight. The monastery seems made of shadows, ideal for hiding, but he conceals his face nonetheless.
It makes no sense to him, but he never understood Potter.
His wand finds him, half-starved, his back scarred, his eyes as haunted as the day Voldemort died. Draco enters the stone garret, his hair blazing as he pushes back his disguise.
Harry, crying on his knees, clutches Draco's sleeve.
"Is this why you're here?" Draco asks. "Forgiveness? Whose?"
"I killed Snape," he replies, as if it's news. "I deserve this."
"Well, I don't." Draco's heart tugs as they Disapparate.
