For days, there had been only silence. Narcissa crept around the Manor, waiting for the inevitable.

Lucius, stayed away, on her orders.

She tried many times to warn her only son about the dangers of falling too hard and too fast for someone who was altogether too wrong for him. She remind him that there were those who would be less than accepting. She never warned him about his own father though.

She was the one to break the news to him, that his fiancée was gone, murdered.

Then it came. The empty, anguished howl of acceptance from Draco’s bedroom.
