Title: Eilidh Mo Chree
Characters: Draco (implied), Myrtle (implied)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Lullaby
Author’s Notes: The title and lyrics (slightly altered) in the drabble are from A Celtic Lullaby. “Eilidh mo chree” means “Eilidh (a girl's name) my dear,” but Draco doesn't need to know that.

“I can’t—I can’t—” his voice broke, as he sank to the ground with his head caught between his knees.

“Shh …” she whispered. “You don’t need to tell me.”

“I—” he started again.

“I understand.”

He stayed silent, his body shuddering with silent sobs.

She stared at him, suddenly unsure of what to do. Her words became song as she moved to comfort him. “It is only a little wee lad that you are …” she trailed off. “Eilidh mo chree.”

She heard a different sound from the boy on the floor, and her heart lifted—

Laughter.
