Everyone assumed that Draco would marry Pansy. She was his oldest friend, a pureblood, and from a prominent family. It made sense to everyone. Everyone except Draco and Pansy.
His mother had been after him to let Pansy wear the Malfoy family ring since he was 13.
The family ring was made of pure dragon silver, the stone being black pearl and goblin onyx.
Pansy laughed when he mentioned it to her.
“I know who you really wanted to give it to,” she teased wickedly. “Just do it!”
“I couldn’t.”
“She’s pureblood.”
“You know why,” he snapped. “She’s a Weasley.”
