Draco sat, cross-legged and alone on the stadium grounds in his makeshift tent, the pop of fireworks pulsing under his skin.  He dared not look up, fearing the black skull insignia would swallow him whole.

A high-pitched screech reverberated through the atmosphere, mimicking Granger's broken pleas as Bellatrix pressed the knife-blade against her pulse point.  Draco brought his knees up to his chest, squeezing his eyes shut in one swift movement.  The voices -- call him, callhim, callhimDraco -- crept into his subconscious, sharp bony fingers rested against his neck before --
